SU! Butterfly Basics Bundle

Say that three times fast – it’s a tongue twister for sure! I made this page using the Butterfly Basics Bundle stamps and dies and a couple of punches.

The bigger butterflies are made with the thinlets, and they cut really easily. I have tried using waxed paper between the die and the paper and without and both ways work well. I love the middle-sized butterfly the best so far.

The stamp set is really versatile and I used the stamps with what I call “the very forgiving technique”. Especially when you use a nature-inspired stamp this technique lets you stamp without worrying about being exact with your stamping. All you do is stamp twice after inking and before re-inking. It also shows some depth. I love that fern stamp!su-layout-1-web

The small butterfly coordinates with the small butterfly punch and I really love that there are always new designs that work with previous products. The other punch I used is the Hearts Border punch.su-layout-2-web

Here is the photo of the clear bundle – it’s 15% off when you buy the stamps and framelits together. Check out the quote, I’ve not heard it before but I really like it: “There is nothing in the caterpillar that tells you it is going to be a butterfly.” What project could you use that quote on?

Celebrate Today Bundle

balloons-webHere’s another bundle where you can save 15% by choosing the bundle instead of the two products separately. This one has lots of stamps and some cute dies. It will be versatile and I really like that there are balloons because there are so many celebrations that could use a balloon or two. There’s even a stamp to make a hot air balloon! The tiny bow is so cute – I know I will use that a lot too.

New Bundle from Stampin’ UP!

petal-potpourri-2-webThese flowers are from the new stamp set Petal Potpourri and they are punched with the coordinating Flower Medallion Punch. You can save 15% if you buy them together as a bundle. I like how you can easily layer the dot and smaller flower to add dimension to your project. The dot and small flower coordinate with punches also to make things quick and easy all the way around (1/2″ circle punch and 1-1/4″ circle scallop punch).

Love is Kindness stamp

2014-12-09 19.51.21

Here’s a peek at one of the new stamps, Love is Kindness. It is fun to color with the Blendabilities, and the blue flowers were colored with a new color set, Bermuda Bay. I don’t know of any flowers that are really that color but I wanted to try out the new colors. The flowers on the right are colored with Calypso Coral, one of the color sets already available.

Love is Kindness comes as a single wood-mount stamp and is in the Occasions catalog available to customers on January 6th. All 12 color sets are available as Sale-a-Bration free items – what  a great deal!

49 Degrees & Christmas Wishes

So the joke around here goes like this: if you don’t like the weather just wait 10 minutes. While that is often true, I did have more than 10 minutes notice that cold weather was coming last Tuesday. Monday was nice, balmy almost, at 60 degrees and sometimes I don’t remember how cold 32 degrees can feel. Tuesday morning brought snow with the temperature drop so when I saw the dusting of white I was thinking about cleaning it off my car. I neglected to turn the furnace on so I had a chilly surprise waiting for me when I got home from work. A 49 degree surprise. Yikes!

There isn’t any snow on my pine bough but I might try some on my next card. I am starting a Christmas card series and the first one is traditional Christmas red and green with a silver accent. I heat embossed the ornament for a little shine. The red strip is glimmer card stock so it’s sparkly as well.
